I went to the library today...it was very exciting! They had a small book sale, but it was actually filled with good books...unlike usual. While I was at one checkout, there was a lady at the other checkout, who said, "I have to confess...I lost a book." The librarian then asked what the title was. The customer responded that "...it was an adult book... ... ..." I thought it was amusing. Anyways, I found a few manga, a few paperbacks, and a couple (surprisingly nice) hardcovers for $0.50 each. I also borrowed a lot of Fuyumi Soryo's Mars and Wataru Yoshizumi's Ultra Maniac. It makes me want to find the Marmalade Boy series...I'm going to hav

I unearthed my Polaroid camera last month...it was given to me by my grandmother quite a while ago (when they still produced actual Polaroid film). Now that I'm going to school in the city, stores are a lot more accessible and I found a shop that sells film for Polaroid cameras by The Impossible Project. I wasn't pleased by the price, but I'm so excited to take pictures with it. :) I also have a huge complaint about the cafeteria that I'm forced to eat at. Its menu is...interesting. I'm a fairly picky eater (I don't really enjoy red meat and I dislike pork, veal, etc.)...I prefer chicken. But that's a rare occurence, so I end up paying for o

I've been working on my cosplay a lot this past week! Everything purchased? Yeah! Top that goes under haori? Complete! Hakama? Cut and sew the ties and back panel, but otherwise, complete! Geta? Ordered! The orange top was kind of a mock-up as well as a piece of the costume - I know what the adjustments that I'll need to make are (lengthen sleeves, shorter collar, have a slit on the lower back). I need to pry the wefted hair that I bought off of a hair claw (yeah, it's cheap dollar store hair, but I've realized that loose hair won't cut it for the bulk of the wig!) and then take care of that. I also need to cut out the stencil for the fa

THANKS FOR THE FAV :)
hello! Im trying to cosplay Toon Link soon and was wondering how you went about making the belt! The photo you have of it looks amazing~
Hello! :)

Thank you very much! It's a pretty simple project...I hand-sewed some fake black leather from the fabric store together, with some Velcro at the back, and the buckle/yellow part is just a sheet of fun foam (as is the design on top of it) which was then hot glued to the leather. Later, I attached a few tiny stitches but didn't have yellow thread with me, so they stood out quite a bit and I removed them. I experimented with a few different things for the buckle (thick yellow foam with paint, fun foam sheet with hot glue in the swirl pattern painted brown) but fun foam on fun foam seemed to give the best cartoon look.

I'll have to watch you and look out for the cosplay! :)
